Beauty Maintenance Regime

Beauty Maintenance Regime is a speculative documentation system that explores beauty maintenance as a form of everyday labour. The project consists of a passport, beauty cards, receipts, stamps, and a documentary film that records appearance-related routines and behaviours.
Rather than measuring attractiveness, the system tracks the time, cost, frequency, consistency, and conformity involved in maintaining appearance. By transforming everyday beauty practices into a bureaucratic process, the project examines how beauty standards become normalised, monitored, and self-regulated.The project does not invent these pressures. Instead, it materialises existing social expectations around appearance, making visible the labour that often remains unnoticed in everyday life.
