There, Their, They're

On their own, There, Their, They’re are fairly banal words, certainly not title-worthy-words. In fact, the 2026 cohort of BA Design was sold on the proposed name by a 3 Spiderman pointing meme. Beyond its meme potential, they felt that the concept of a homophone, words that sound the same but have different meanings, resonates with all the confusion, repetition, and happy coincidences that define creative studies.

BA Design at Goldsmiths seeks not only to understand what design is but what it might become. By equally valuing and nurturing both creative practice and critical conceptual exploration, the course aims to empower designers to challenge pre-existing conditions and propose new possibilities, design that not only works to solve, but also aspires to ask questions and generate new understanding.
