What would you say if no one could hear you?
Spill Your Guts is a participatory installation responding to a culture of contemporary loneliness and a lack of real communication, creating a space to speak honestly, even without being heard.
It invites you to enter a stomach-shaped telephone box. Inside, a red telephone offers a simple instruction: to speak.
Visitors are encouraged to confess whatever occupies their mind. You may confess a secret, something absurd, or something meaningless. Honesty is encouraged.
The work brings together the soft and familiar of crochet with something often avoided or left unspoken: the internal body.
Nothing spoken is recorded or replayed; what is said remains within the ‘gut’. Instead, the voice becomes a visual presence outside the installation, shifting attention away from content and towards the act of speaking itself.
The work asks what it means to confess when no one is listening.
Visitors are encouraged to enter and spill their guts.
