Between us, the table

This is an immersive experience design project about emotional perception.
The project uses the dining table as its central spatial element, creating an emotional atmosphere through the setting of a shared meal. The audience sits around the same table and watches the same animation from different positions. Although everyone experiences the same scene, different viewing angles and spatial relationships cause each person to notice different visual details, lighting changes, and emotional reactions to the sound.
After the experience, participants are invited to write down their own feelings and read the responses left by others. Through these different reflections, the audience gradually becomes aware that even within the same moment, people may focus on completely different details and emotions.
The project is not trying to solve emotional misunderstanding between people. Instead, it begins from the limitation of perspective. We can never fully experience another person’s emotions directly, but only understand them from where we stand. By turning viewing position itself into part of the experience, the work explores how perspective shapes emotional understanding, and how misunderstanding may emerge not from indifference, but from the distance between individual experiences.
