Protectors of the Land is a speculative design project exploring the figure of the “land protector” through themes of ancient land-based living, ecological stewardship, and the contrast between harmony with nature and militarised protection. The project investigates camouflage as both a visual language and cultural symbol, resulting in the development of a site-specific camouflage inspired by Wistman’s Wood in Dartmoor — an ancient woodland with a rare microclimate and unique flora and fauna.
